The Young Muslim Advisory Group (YMAG) are pleased to announce the launch of our new and improved website! On it you’ll find lots of new content and an exciting new layout and design that showcases our recent and forthcoming activities and projects.
The YMAG is an exciting project which involves a group of 23 young Muslims aged 17-26. The group has been set up to work with government to act as a critical friend to help find solutions to a range of challenges including tackling discrimination; increasing employment levels; preventing extremism and boosting civic participation.
The new website focuses on giving a range of audiences the opportunity to find our more about the work YMAG are doing and to explore the issues they are engaging with. It will also provide an important interactive space for other young people to comment on the articles, pictures and videos they see on the site, and to take part in online discussions and vote in polls on key issues.
You can access the website by clicking on the following link http://www.ymag.opm.co.uk/
As you’ll see, the site is divided into three main sections: The ‘Explore the Issues’ section is regularly updated with new articles, features and topics for debate and discussion. We’ve included sections on Islam, communities, government policy and a myth busting section which tackles some of the common stereotypes and misconceptions about Muslims.
In the ‘Your Space to Fill’ section you’ll find the online polls and discussions – and information on how we are taking your views forward in our engagement with decision makers in the government and the media.
Finally, in the ‘What We’re Doing’ section you can find out about the events we’re organising and the projects we’re working on – including our forthcoming research project. You can also find out more about ways to get involved in your community.
We are keen to gather feedback on the site and would warmly welcome any comments, thoughts or suggestions you might have. Please forward them onto: http://www.ymag.opm.co.uk/contact. We would also be really grateful if you could forward this email to any relevant contacts who you think might be interested in the website.
