Planning Aid was started in 1973 by the Town and Country Planning Association.
It seeks to positively engage communities in the planning process by providing assistance with casework and with community planning.
Planning Aid provides free initial advice to all callers but more detailed help will only be provided to individuals and groups that meet their eligibility criteria. The work that Planning Aid carries out is independent of local authorities however, it does complement it.
Planning Aid focuses on the involvement of young people through out the process. They provide programmes that help young people build an understanding of the planning process and help them to understand how they can influence the planning process in their area.
