As you are aware swine flu and emergency planning issues are being discussed a lot at the moment and there have recently been cases of swine flu in notts.
At a recent Nottinghamshire County Council meeting it was agreed that we need to ensure that services we commission have information to help them prepare emergency continuity plans that include flu planning.
I have been advised to alert you to the Notts Prepared website http://www.nottsprepared.gov.uk/ as this may be useful to send to you.
There is a section on the website for businesses and voluntary sector organisations
http://www.nottsprepared.gov.uk/np_home/np_for_business.htm.
Please encourage your organisations to use this website and to develop plans if they haven't done so already. This section of the website provides a useful step by step guide and includes a template that can be used.
I hope this is useful, although aware that many of you already have plans, however the swine flu pandemic has created additional impetus to ensure we all have plans in place.
