ESF Community Grants
The second application round for the ESF Community Grants programme in Nottinghamshire has now been launched. (ESF Community Grants remain available across the East Midlands but with differing application timetables, contact the relevant ESF Community Grants Development Worker for more information).
Details of the programme can be found on the Enable web-site and the application guidance and application form for Nottinghamshire are available from your local ESF Community Grants Development Worker – see below. Please note the application guidance and application form have been revised since the first round so potential applicants must still contact their Development Worker.
The ESF Community Grants programme is designed to assist small not-for-profit groups based in and run by people from the community they support.
The aim of providing small grants is to give community groups an opportunity to access funding, through a simplified process, to undertake activity that helps engage and progress disadvantaged individuals in positive community work. Projects should provide an opportunity for them to develop their confidence and skills and be more able to take advantage of further opportunities that help them progress towards the labour market.
For this second application round there is a total of £125,400 funding available, in Nottinghamshire. Groups can apply for up to £10,000, but with the expected average grant for the projects supported being £5,870.
To ensure programme targets are achieved Selection Panels will be prioritising the following types of projects:
Projects delivering in the County
Projects requiring a lower level of grant
Projects submitted by organisations with a lower income level
Projects supporting the over 50’s (looking to (re)enter the labour market)
Advice on project eligibility, help with application development and the submission of the application is available on a one-to-one basis. Potential applicants are advised to contact Enable well before the application deadline (Monday, 14 September 2009).
