Halesowen Town manager Morell Maison admitted he will find it hard to compete financially with some of the BGB Premier Divison's big spenders next season after he was forced to make a huge cut on his playing budget. The Yeltz will go into the new campaign with a budget estimated to have been slashed by 30 per cent. Maison admitted the cuts were necessary and although they would not be able to compete finacially with some of next year's opponents, they will be more than competitive on the field and promotion is still a realistic target. The boss said: "I have got my hit list of players and I'm confident I will get what I want. "But you have got to be realistic when you are assembling a squad and we have had to make budgets cuts of around 30 per cent and this means somewhere along the line some players will slip through the net. "There is no doubt we will be strong and competitive but I'm not sure we will go into the season as favourites. advertisement"I don't think we will be able to compete with the playing budgets of the likes of Farnborough, Brackley and Corby but I'm pretty confident we will be up there come the end of the season." The manager admitted talks were at the advanced stage with a host of last season's squad as well as possible new signings and announcements would be made in due course. One player who has committed his future to the club is 20-year-old Davion Hamilton. Hamilton made 38 appearances last season and Maison has high hopes the player will continue to blossom under his stewardship. Meanwhile, midfielder Jay Denny is set to to make a decision on his future in the next few days following discussions. Players who may be on the move out of the Grove are left winger Ikechi Anya and veteran defender Dennis Pearce. Anya is believed to be a target of Conference South outfit Worcester City, while Pearce is in talks with Bromsgrove Rovers. Pearce does have a deal on the table from Halesowen, Maison confirmed. He said: "Dennis was down here with me earlier this week and he has been offered a deal. "However, Bromsgrove are also after him and as I said to Dennis if he feels a move to there at this stage of his career will benefit him then good for him." The Yeltz are also still on the look-out for new sponsors for next season. The club are yet to agree terms with a new shirt sponsor and are also keem to hear from anyone interested in sponsoring an advertsing board or a player for next season. 12/06/2008 Gloucester Sign Marshall and Ballenger Gloucester City have swooped for Lee Marshall and Luke Ballinger. Marshall spent last season at Paulton Rovers, having joined them from Bristol Manor Farm during the 2006-2007 season. Has is an effective left footed player who can play anywhere on the left flank. Ballenger signed from Mangotsfield United, where he enjoyed a successful season. He is a very pacey striker who signed for Mangotsfield in June 2007 from Western League Premier Division Melksham Town, for whom he scored thirty six goals during the 2006/07 season. Prior to that he had been with the Bristol City academy.
