Steve, well done for getting hold of these figures.Even if they do include on-costs like tax & NI, (and I suspect they won't unless you specified exactly what you wanted) the true costs of running Team Bath FC will be far far greater. Each so-called "student" will no doubt be eligible for normal student subsistence grants/cheap loans, allied to heavily subsidised food and accomodation, all out of the public purse. In addition, there are the costs of the excellent training facilities they enjoy. Add it all together and it almost certainly exceeds the biggest overall club budget in this division, even before the handsome salaries of Roddy, Tillson and all the other coaches. AND TAXPAYERS PAID FOR ALL OF IT! The next problem is there are now other unis copying the Bath model - precisely because they have been allowed to get away with it. Give it 10 years and there will be a number of Uni teams rising up the pyramid unless something changes. I have nothing against the players at Team Bath some of whom are good players, and very well coached, but IMHO they have an unfair advantage against all other teams in whichever division they are in, up to Conference National at least. Lets hope we don't draw in the Cup or Trophy next year!!
