ITK, is it wise to make that public information?
There's only one way that this club is going and that is up.
I think that the club has seen the benefit of a bit of marketing and schmoozing the press at every opportunity, if everyone can move that onto the next level for next season it should prove to be a huge boost to the club.
Our new commercial manager also has a huge role to play in all of this, lets hope that the club gives her her head and lets her be as imaginative as possible in attracting new and serious money to the club.
Our fans have become enthused by the club like never before and also need to be used and listened to like never we never have in the past, theres a lot of sound ideas, skills and enthusiam all around the ground on matchdays that has never really been harnessed, instead that has been allowed to evaporate away at the final whistle - that needs to change and there are encouraging signs that it is.
Theres no point in focusing all our attention on the field when we need to build an infrastucture to sustain us for now and wherever it is we want the club to progress to in the future.
We've seen plenty of people from other clubs tag us a small club - that is a lie, it is a small village with a big club in it - with i think massive potential to grow further still. We are a unique proposition for any potential sponsor or fan within a thirty mile radius, how many other clubs could say the same?
As much as i'd like to see us sign a Conference player i'd also be as excited if we signed a Coference size shirt sponsorship deal, infact probably more so, getting our ground sponsored, sponsors over the food and drinks bar, getting a major local media sponsor on board (Wave Echo?) every sponsor we have displaying Bash posters and banners on their premises, every pub and club in the area having some sort of link to us, a large and active supporters club, imaginative match day pricing and every attempt made to link up closer than ever with ALL local schools.
To me all of those things are as important as who we are going to sign or release through the close season and to spend our time through the summer second guessing Riles would be a waste when we should be giving as much attention to what is going on off the pitch to move us forward.
Another 200 fans on the gate and Riles could be signing who he wants couldn't he.
