Yesterday, I moved my recording session to the afternoon since a snowstorm was due to arrive in the evening. Not only was our timing good on the song, but it was equally good when I left the studio. As I drove home over the hilly winding farm roads the snow was falling in loads. I parked the car and walked to my front door...boots crunching the snow underfoot. I love that sound. It's like no other.
Danielle and I spent the evening by the tree and periodically looked out the window. "Danielle, you're so sensous...and sensous up, can you get me another beer?" (she loves that joke. or at least I pretend she does.)
Snow fell and wind howled as we slept. Morning came and I bundled up to do some shovelling. I went over to the Century Inn and began clearing the frozen stone walks that have already gone through 211 Winters.
Finally having enough of the cold, I walked in and fixed myself a sweet coffee. Under the flag of the Whiskey Rebellion, I sipped the warm stuff and let my imagination drift.
I hope all is well with my Southern friends. As for today, this Yankee is feeling pretty good.
No point to this other than 'yall are in my thoughts.
