Posted by David Brazil A bit abour this car: I have owned it since 99 - prior to that is lived on the Central Coast. The engine was replaced in 2001 with a '91 ULP unit that had only done 50,000 kms. Other than that, all the running gear is original. I have just put 12 months rego on the car, and it has had regular servicing by European Autocare (Denton Christie). Condition: Upcoming mechanical problems identified: This is a classic - totally driveable as is, but could easily be resotored to pristine condition by an enthusiast. Selling due to new addition to family. $2500 ono (with 12 months rego) due to upcoming mechanical work. Can view in Sydney, Wollongong or Katoomba depending on the day of the week. Yes - this is the original 1985 BX19GT - One of only 100 imported in to Australia. My one is gold with black/tan herringbone interior.
I have had it down in the 'Gong and used it to commute to Sydney and the Blue Mountains. It has done over 290000 kms and is still going strong.
Runs like a dream, quick, responsive, a joy to drive.
No rust to speak of.
Starting to show it's age cosmetically (paint condition on non-metal panels only fair).
Interior is good, with new Blaupunkt CD player and 4 speakers.
Minor exhaust valve seal leak (not urgent but occasionally causes a puff of smoke on start-up)
Traling arm bearings - showing wear but not urgent.
Tyres good.
