Wondered where one "B Dunks" had got to when I saw this message.

I still have that article that is referred to in the Double Chevrons article in a Wheels somewhere; I remember at the time it was quite an eye opener for the journos mainly due to the fact that they had the guy doing the road test in the BX to go first so he "wouldn't have a problem keeping up" & were a bit miffed when he was a handful to keep in touch with over the distance, in fact from memory I think he had to eventually slow down so a couple could keep in touch.
I was once told that a good GT will at worst keep a 16V honest and in some instances will go a bit harder.
I gave some character in a grey import Nissan Skyline the biggest fright of his life yesterday when he decided he'd show me how well a rice cooker performs when I came up on him at an intersection just out of town. After taking him to 140 I was about to slip into 5th & go round him when a "sus" looking White Commodore appeared stopped on the roadside so I let discretion be the better part of valour, much to the relief of passenger son, however, riceboy in the Skyline was so 'issed off, he went past the Commode at what I'd guess to be around 170/180; fortunately, the Commode was a lost tourist....he'll keep
