Thanks, Louise. Your suggestions were what I had already followed to reach the two dealers I described in my message. I question that their recommended instruments surpass Siemens. I don't understand Siemens Co using dealers that don't place them first in competition. Possibly another company has a better hearing aid but why doesn't research give the customers that information, if true?
I have decided to get an appointment with an audiologist at Duke Medical Center and see what they recommend.
