After all have hatched you can put the first hatched chicks back under her. If the nest is high she will jump out and the chicks will follow and may get hurt. Plus once the chick are out of the nest they may not be able to get back in it. If you leave the hen & chicks in with the rest of the chickens you will be very lucky if the other ones don't kill the chicks. If you have a dog carrier it makes a good safe place for mama & chicks. Andy, I'd move the hen with her eggs and any hatched chicks somewhere else. Were all the eggs put in the nest at the same time? If not they may be hatching for days & days. She will only stay on the nest for a short time after some chicks hatch because the ones that have hatched will need food and water.
