Posted by Laurel SO, I was not a bubbling with joy patient when he took out some stitches and I really dont want to go back to him until its necessary so I'm hoping someone here has experienced the white stuff. And before you mention it, I am a smoker. I tried to quit prior to surgery, but was using the Nicotrol Inhaler and PS said I might as well smoke. Seems quit smoking aid distribute nicotine the same as a cigarette. So I'm smoking! I'm smoking and worried about these spots. Please someone respond if you have any experience with this.

I am 6 weeks post op. My breast on the left side has a "wound" approximately the size of a dime, with exposed "white-ish" something. It's not an infection since I cannot easily get the white stuff off. I have two or three other spots like this where white stuff shows in the wound. From what I understand necrosis is blackening of the tissue. I have looked and looked to find an explanation for this. Does anyone have a similar experience? I'm not scheduled for an appt with my PS until Aug 16.....
Also, my PS and I don't have the best of patient doctor match. i thought I had researched what I needed to know, but in reading this and other sites, I was poorly informed. My breasts look ok for the most part, size, symmetry...but I have what I call 'side boobs'...lol It seems many PS will lipo the area under arms so this doesn't happen. Mine didn't... I am a large girl, 5'7" and 180, but now I look weird.
