Posted by Sylvia I live on the Central Coast in California. I went back to work after 2 weeks part-time, because I was worried about my job and felt that staying home was not good for my mind. Some people say that I went back to work to soon and would not have had these problems if I would have stayed home, but they have no idea, the damage was already done. I have to run to work, hope you have a good day. Sylvia

Kristina,
Sorry about yesterday, I never really look at my boob, I just shower and change my dressing. It was taking the picture and comparing it to last months that put me into a spin. It is really ugly. My doctor had me using plain gauze, from Yvonne I learned of Polymem and asked my PS about it, finally he said that I could try it. From another women I have met through all of this mess she sent me some non adhearing dressing from Curity. It is moist. My daughter has a friend who had a partial mastectomy and she sent over some Vigilon a gel type dressing, I started using it yesterday and my scabs did moisten up.
You asked when I knew that I had a problem, my PS came out of surgery and told my family that I had lost blood supply, but we had no idea what that meant. I did not write down when I grew the eschar, I thought it was some sort of a blood blister, but noticed it was infected on the second week, on the 20th day he cut off the eschar. A month post-op I sought out a second opinion becuase my PS had not done a culture and did not seem concerned about my infection, even thought my skin was red and looked like it had a fever.
