Posted by Meliss I can completely understand your concerns about having a breast reduction. It's taken me over 3 years to finally decide that it's the right thing for me to do... And next summer I will probably be having the surgery. In regards to your concerns Shani, I have some advice that I hope will help. Firstly, your scoliosis and back problems alone, are a great reason for this surgery. As you get older, your back will only get worse and addressing this problem at our age, is a good thing. Yes, you're right, God did make you the way you are. But Shani, in my volunteer at and work experiences with very sick children, I've come to realize that medicine is a great thing. It helps to fix things that though "God gave us", may not be the best thing for us. As for breast feeding, I can completely empathize with that concern, as that was a major issue for me. But for me, I boiled it down to two things: (1) can I wait 8 or 9 years living with my size chest before I have kids? (2) what if I wait so long to do it, just for the sake of breast-feeding, and then have a baby (just like my mum) who didn't want to be breast fed anyway. I'm SO sorry for this very long reply Shani. I guess I just want you to know that you're definitely not alone. You have support whenever you need it The best of luck in your decision,

Hi Shani,
After reading your post, I just wanted to write to tell you that I definitely understand what you're going though. I'm 20-years-old and a 36G. I too have scoliosis (a 15 degree curve in my lower back) and though it's not as serious as some, with the size of my chest and other back problems, I feel it doubly.
