I think we should wait for an official announcement from the office. Its reasonable to assume that since they have been together for so long they will make the next step, the question is when.
But don't be sad, we have few greek sayings: "Every obstacle is there for a good reason" and "When a door closes a window opens"....
I think you are a person with a good heart and you will soon find your prince charming
