Carla-I am so sorry to hear about this! It's not just the job or the money, but rather a part of you for the past thirty years...I know there is probably a lot of attachment and feeling of loss.
I am in fear that this will happen to me too. I am SO glad that I did without for a few years to get my debts paid off. I still have a car payment, but even that loan has been paid down a lot and is my last debt. So sure, I stress about it, but it could be a lot worse-one of my coworkers got laid off last week and I have felt so awful over it; she has no cushion and no family to help. It's just so sad!
