Alex, I just read your article and really liked it. I haven't seen Religulous yet, but plan on checking it out, even though Bill Maher annoys the crap out of me more often than not.
I do wish someone would do a film on the non freak show aspects of religion, something that' entertaining, but is done in the spirit of genuine curiosity and inquiry, rather than that all too common yuppie, liberal, sanctimonious mocking tone that these sorts of films usually have. I'm not especially religious myself, but I have friends and family members who are, and none of them speak in tongues, persecute gay people, or picket movies like Religulous. Alot of them have interesting stories to tell, and thought provoking explanations surrounding their religious beliefs.
