Posted by HW Your question is a hard one for me, as I've never been to Perth, and only briefly to Brisbane. I guess it depends on what you plan to do while you are here ie, do you plan to see much of the country? Perth is a very long way away from everything, while Brisbane is fairly central (as central as can be in such a huge country!). I believe Perth itself is very beautiful, lovely temperate climate, nothing like what you are used to, even the winters a mild. Good access to the outback if that interests you. Brisbane is a lot hotter in the summer, lovely in winter, many people from the southern states holiday in Brisbane during the winter. From Brisbane, you can easily travel to Sydney, even Melbourne (you can visit me!!), let alone Queensland itself. That would be harder to do from Perth, simply from a time frame point of view. How much looking have you done on the internet? It certainly is a tough decision, and I guess you have to factor in which medical facilty suits you better too.
