Aid to the Church in Need congratulates Mr John McCarthy QC
Mr John McCarthy QC, a long time board member of the Australian office of the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), has been appointed as the next Australian Ambassador to the Holy See.
Mr McCarthy will replace the Hon Tim Fischer AC who served as Australia’s first resident Ambassador to the Holy See from February 2009 until January 2012.
It is envisaged that Mr McCarthy will take up his position in September of this year.

Aid to the Church in Need, founded in 1947, is an international Catholic charity under the authority of the Holy See. The charity provides pastoral assistance to the Church wherever She is poor, persecuted or threatened.
