Help for training seminarians in the archdiocese of Nueva Pamplona
Last year this led to the murder of Archbishop Isaiah Duarte Cancino of Cali and the kidnap of Bishop Jorge Enrique Jimenéz Carvajal of Zipaquirá, the chairman of the Latin American bishops' council. Hence it is all the more important that the Church should be visibly and tangibly there for the people, especially through her priests. And there is no shortage of vocations - indeed the archdiocese of Nueva Pamplona currently has 53 seminarians. The only problem is that there is not enough money to fund their training.
Archbishop Gustavo Paul Martínez Frías has asked for support from the international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). A grant of $11,900 has been approved.
If you would like to know more or make a donation please ring the ACN office on (02) 9679-1929 or e-mail: info@aidtochurch.org
