Support for three Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate
In the province of Tarma in central Peru three Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate (Franciscanas de Maria Inmaculada) live and work. They support the priest with the liturgy and help with the religious instruction of children, young people and Catholic families. Within the parish the sisters work with young people, encouraging them in their faith and helping them to know the Bible better. They also care for the poorest of the people, listening to them and spending a great deal of time with them. This year they are also running a project entitled "Healthy families and a healthy School", through which they hope to help families and school staff.
As the sisters have no source of income of their own, their Superior, Sister Carmen Graciela Pazmino Cruz, turned to the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) for support.
ACN has promised a grant of $1,900. To help this cause please contact the Sydney office of ACN on (02) 9679-1929. e-mail: info@aidtochurch.org or write to Aid to the Church in Need PO Box 6245 Blacktown DC NSW 2148. Web: www.aidtochurch.org
