Renovation of the retreat house for the Congregatio Imitationis Jesu (CIJ)
In West Timor, in the southwest corner of the island lies the diocese of Kupang, where the Congregation of the Imitation of Christ (Congregatio Imitationis Jesu) has a retreat house that is used for the instruction of young people and adults in the Faith. There is now an urgent need for a extensive renovation of the house including among other things, the refectory, the chapel and the entire electrical wiring system. The retreat house is very important to the faith life of the community as it help those Catholics who cannot afford to hold their meetings and events elsewhere, due to high accommodation and food prices.
With the support of Bishop Petrus Turang of Kupang, Sister Dominatrix CIJ, who runs the retreat house, has turned to the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). ACN has promised a grant of $17,000 in support.
