To cal out, dial 9 for the first available line. or 81 for line 1, 82 for line 2, etc. If you want to receive faxes, get the fax machine out of the TD1232 and connect it to an automatic fax/voice switch on one line ahead of the TD1232. (2) What is a "console interface?" (3) That switch was on some older analog proprietary phones, generally not used with the TD1232. You can program from a display phone in jack #1. Default password sequence is PROGRAM star pound 1234. (But someone may have changed it.) (4) Programming is done with specific software, not Hyperterminal. (1) If you want to send a fax, the fax machine needs nothing more than a jack that has a live green/red pair. Check your connections.
