Hi-def digital cable lineups keep expanding - do i want them?
I am looking for some advice from a new local source since I am new to the area and don't know the best add-ons from my local cable provider Comcast, and I do not even know if Comcast is the answer or if I am better served by satellite. There are a wide variety of offerings and services from just about everyone of them, but most are offered by Comcast. I'm just not sure which way is the best way to go - breaking them up with different providers or combining all three digital services through Comcast. Digital TV will be provided in my location by my phone company although it apepars quite costly. Satellite television seems like the cheaper option until you factor in adding a bunch of channel packages. For not much more money over Comcast's big basic lineup you can have the huge digital expanded tier. The variety of HD channels is bigger at Comcast than what you can get through satellite I do not own an HDTV at this point, but when I do purchase one, it would be helpful to be prepared. Another service that Comcast offers is an unlimited flat rate national phone service that offers both local and long distance calling. The area telco is advertising new bargains in order to more successfully compete, but I have not been offered the flat rate national calling as of this time. I do not have a problem with their service, but I would like to receive the monthly billing for the same amount instead of having it change. I currently have broadband internet through DSL. I can't complain as it does what it's supposed to, but some of my pals have got internet using a cable connection and it works much faster than mine. I play many games on my computer and xbox, so my consoles should have a faster connection. It appears that Comcast has a decent high speed service also. If you think that the basic tier is good, then you should try upgrading for even quicker download times. If I order Comcast's triple-play bundled service packages, it seems that it may give me some big savings by purchasing them all together. Can anyone with prior experience of these give me any helpful hints?
