Print call log - 824

I have a KX-TA 824 & TVA 50. I'd like to access the outbound call log. On screen would be fine, printing out would be acceptable too. SMDR is enabled. The manual seems to indicate that I need to connect a printer to the RS-232 connector. Really? Kind of an antiquated technology. I don’t have any printers or computers that still have a serial port connection. The notebook I use to program / access the maintenance console does have a parallel (Centronics) port as does a printer I have that I can set up for this process. Thanks, Marc
