I am not aware of any inexpensive solution. What you are asking for is a "voice-over-IP" telephone system that would replace what you currently have. It will be less expensive to run the extra telephone extension wires.
Another solution is to subscribe to a service that rings multiple telephone numbers when your main number rings. These extra telephone numbers can include numbers that ring at your computer. See Google Voice for a free example of such a service and Gizmo5 for the number to ring at your computer.
