I have been unlucky enough to get on a lot of solicitors' call lists and I was getting 1 or 2 "spam" calls every day. I bought the new phone set with the Call Block and added the numbers, and now I'm getting 4 or 5 "spam" calls every hour throughout the day. My guess is that the machine that is initiating the call gets the busy signal and that is just an indication to call back.
The calls are on my blocked list so they only get a half of a ring, but it's driving me crazy because it's incredibly frequent now. In a way, an entire call once a day was better than a half of a ring over and over all through the day.
I use Vonage so I can't selectively block calls. Does anyone have a suggestion? Can this phone be made to not ring at all? Can there be a delay so the half-ring doesn't happen? I'd like to stay with VoIP but I'm willing to switch companies just to get the constant ringing to stop.
I've turned the ringer off so I only know about calls if the screen lights up. It's still distracting. Help?!
