The first thing I would do is UNPLUG the entire system.
What don't you understand about the above statement? I didn't say "unplug both phones" I said unplug the SYSTEM.
While you're at it, if the system is a TDA-100/200, pull the DLC and read the serial number on the inside, the one that starts with 7Axxxxxxxxx If that number is less than 7E, you may have a problem
The 76xx phones can plug into 2 possible systems if the phones are really a year old, the TDA-50 or a TDA-100/200. The 50 cabinet is small, the 100 is medium with 6 card slots and the 200 looks the same only with 11 slots. 16 digital phones will connect to a DLC via a single amphenol cable sticking out the front of the card. The serial number of the boards made before a certain month in 2007 had issues. That s/n is located on the side of the card, it just ejects from the card file with a tab.
Now, when the system powers back up, post back and see what reset and what didn't.
You asked what we'd do or if we had any ideas. Yes, either unplug the system and see if it resets or call a qualified repair person.
The phone has no battery and you don't even want to think about "resetting" the system.
Did I mention that if it doesn't work call a qualified repair person?
