change out to digital ksu

I am changing out a KX-TA624 ksu to a KXTD1232 dual cabinet system and will have to reuse the existing TVS-50 mail system anybody know if I can save the messages and user recordings\passwords and stuff or if will have to reprogram VPS completly ? What other differences or problems can I expect to see as for the user features? thanks any help greatly appreciated
