Can an analog phone be assigned the same extension no. as a Digital phone when it is plugged into the XDP jack so it can ring and take/make a call?

How do I program a KX-TVS100 mailbox to play the announcement only and but not take messages?

I need to make either a mbx or a prompt to play directions to the business.
