I am new to this forum. I hope I am posting this to the right place.
I've had a Panasonic 616 easa-phone with 3 phone lines in my home (where my wife run a small business) since 1995. It works great but I find with cell-phones being what they are, I'd like to get rid of 1 phone line and keep the other 2 lines (plus the doorbell and intercom features). The problem is, the line I would to get rid of is the main line. When the power goes off, I can plug a regular phone into one designated jack and I can still get this line to work while the other lines will not come back until the power comes back on. (This system was installed by a pro and this is the way he set it up.)
Any ideas on how to get rid of that main phone line without disabling the Panasonic 616 from dealing with the other lines and intercoms? If I did, any way to make calls if the power goes out (as I currently do)? I'd save myself about $50/month so I might be willing to pay my service guy to do it if he does not charge too much.
