Sorry, John The auto answer is a function of the individual staion and can only be turned on or off at the actual phone. If the kids don't want the parents to hear they hit the button and shut off the parents.
In the past to have a listening station that is not subject to the kids control some users have installed a KX-T30865 door station in the kids room. The parents can call the door box and listen in................
