KX-TA308 parallel phone connection

I have a KX-TA308 with 2 lines and 8 extensions. I have it programmed so that picking up any handset accesses an outside line (one must press the Intercom button to make intercom calls). I would like to connect an SLT in parallel to a PT at one extension. I have programmed location [610] to enable parallel connection at this extension. Several questions:
1) Can both outlets be connected to all 4 pins at SLT outlet, or will this cause problems? Manual indicates connecting 2, but the workman connected all 4 pins at both outlets.
2) How can the SLT access the intercom, since picking up the handset access an outside line. How can the SLT access a specific outgoing CO?
3) Can the handsfree Answerback feature still be used used with the PT? This seems to be causing strange things, like an echo and screechy lineback noise.
