I have a 824 and a TVA50 - installed both upgrades in late July. Went without a hitch. Biggest change is that you can now link the two with 4 lines via APT (which is why I jumped on installing it so quickly) ...
Make sure you update your the PC control/programming software first, and then the new firmware on the unit.
