What is your call volume and voicemail usage (high, low, moderate)? According to my TVS50 installation manual, the KX-TD816 only works with the TVS50's "In-Band" or analog integration. That said, message waiting lamps are turning on an off by picking up a free port and dialing MWL on/off tones on the connected TD816 port(s). When setting up the TVS50, you need to set aside ports to handle these Message Waiting lamping calls. First, you must make sure that the TVS50 has ports designated for MWL. Second, you must make sure that it's programmed with the correct MLW codes to dial. Your TD816 may need to be configured to allow MWL from the ports connected to your TVS50. Also, if all available VM ports are in use, the lamping may not occur or it may be delayed - based on the MWL retry settings in your TVS50. Even when configured properly, you may experience delayed dropped message waiting lamping using the TVS50. Again, this is a limitation of the in-band (analog) integration. I've found the message lamping to be MUCH more reliable with digitally integrated VM systems. The TVS50, with it's limited port capacity and analog integration doesn't handle lamping very well witn "in-band" integration.
