Posted by Pam on March 11, 2004, 10:32 am Jesus was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. Yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afficted. But he was pieced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us had turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53: 3-6 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galations 3:13-14 Jesus himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have healed. I Peter 2:24 The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for,"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Has anyone seen the Passion of Christ? I did. Mel Gibson did a great job on this film. He protrayed what it really look like to witness the passion of Jesus Christ. It was pretty bloody but that is how it happen. It is a real eye opener to what Jesus went though and how much blood he lost for us. It was a miracle he even made it to the cross.
