My WW2 interest started a long time ago. From what I remember I saw two films that amazed me. One was "Cross of Iron" w/ Maximillian Schell and James Coburn. Good movie with a weird ending. The novel of the same title ends on an uneven note too. Then I saw "Lion of the Desert" w/ Anthony Quinn and Oliver Reed. Fantastic. It's about the Italian conquests of Libya, and how the bedouins fought back. From there it snowballed into a full blown interest. Scarface
