My husband and I are planning on moving to Florida- probably in February. My Mother has decided she is going to move to FL. as well. Heaven forbid a 30 year old woman and her 40 year old husband should go somewhere without parental supervision... (in some ways this is a joke and also not...)
Anyhoo- she has been living with my Grandmother for the last couple of years and now my Grandmother is moving back to my hometown leaving my Mother to go where? You guessed it- moving in with us. In a way this is good- saves money on rent, she'll watch the kids if I need her (she doesn't work currently) etc.
Yet... this could be bad. My Mother tends to be highly nosey and gets her feelings hurt over the smallest things yet wants to be as rude and obnoxious to others as she feels like. She makes huge messes and doesn't pick up after herself. I have a hard enough time working and keeping the house clean now with 2 kids- but add her and AAAACK!
When I first moved here from my hometown she, of course, followed- sold her house and everything. I wound up giving in (after much arguing) to sharing an apt. with her. I have vivid memories of waking up with her on top of me with her fist drawn back about to hit me because my alarm clock woke her up. Her alarm was set to go off 10 minutes after mine. I was 27 years old then.
*sigh* I am praying it won't be as bad this time.
