Posted by Youko Koenma Also, I think many girls find his personality--and the mystery of Youko Kurama--quite appealing as well. Kuwabara and Yusuke are not in the least bit mysterious. Hiei's past is, for the most part, completely revealed in the later episodes. Of Kurama, we know this: At one point, he had a partner named Kuronue, who died during a robbery (the first time Kurama tried to steal the Mirror of Utter Dark *snark*). We know at one point he led a gang of thieves who weren't present at the time of Kuronue's death, and one of those thieves, Yomi, Kurama sent an assassin after. And we know that Kurama was killed by a hunter, slipped into the fetus carried by Minamino Shiori, was born, etc, etc. We also know, from Yomi, that Kurama has lived in excess of a thousand years. Now, that's an awful lot of time, and we don't have enough information on Kurama to even account for a small portion of his lifetime. Much food for fertile imaginations, and girls dig a guy with a pretty face and a mysterious past. And what would be the fun of fandom if we couldn't obssess over pretty two-dimentional/fictitous characters? ~Youko Koenma~

Well, Kia, in response to people only going for his looks--I think it's safe to say that human nature causes us to be attracted to things we find aesthetically pleasing. And not "attracted" in the physical sense--I find nothing sexually appealing about two dimensional fictitious persons, and yet I find Kurama visually appealing. He's a lovely work of art, really.
