I'm more than happy, trust me with this announcement.
I really hope our attendances go ballistic on the back of this news. We need to be attracting the next generation of Ilson fans, because us disturbed codgers won't be around forever.
I love to see the kids down there with dads and/or grandads. 3 generations when we go, and clubs' like ours should encourage this. As much as he's disliked this is ALL Paul Miller ever wanted.
The Club need to strike whilst the iron is hot now.
Be in contact with every school in the area, offering chances for our own Acadamy boys to go in and take a P.E. Lesson and let the kids know there is a local team on the doorstep, not just bloody Forest or Derby.
Get a youngster badgering dad to go and watch Ilson is exactly what we want!
Do yo know how hard it is to say NO to a child that won't shut up pestering you?
With that then comes the sale of shirt, scarf..... because they'll want em, trust me on that.
It's exactly how my family started, now my boy's got his mates coming home and a fair few away, and they are obsessed.
Teenagers now, but the one's who will take our places on the terraces and in the bars when we are no longer here.
Anyway, I think you see what I mean.
It's all about encouraging the audience you've got, by not taking advantage of them at the drop of a hat. Then that will hopefully go some way into watching that audience grow.
