SR decided that they wanted out earlier this season after having to invest heavily when the Gary Ricketts affair came home to roost. That action probably meant that the club realised it would be financial suicide to employ two coaches without SRs backing. I think at that point the decision was made to gamble on Steve Chettle as he would be the better option for the future. Nigel Harrop has really been dropped into a difficult and some would say impossible position. He has to save the club money but still has to try and take the club forward by finding new backers as I would imagine that he is not a millionaire.
Steve decided to go to Nuneaton and Nigel has appointed a young and ambitious coach. Obviously players are going to leave to play at Nuneaton with Kevin but I cannot see how this is Nigels fault. I think it might be time to give the man a break because it was SR who pulled out albeit after settling the Garry Ricketts debt.
I hope this is the start of a new chapter in the clubs history so let's be positive and move forwards and stop looking for people to blame. We must remember we are all in this together!!
