I may be wrong but from what I understand the "problem" with KW is that he's more a manager than a coach. That's not a bad thing in itself - Alex Feruson wasn't a coach, Brian Clough wasn't a coach. However they did have coaches that did the day to day work.
I don't think it's so much that we literally couldnt afford KWs wages, but more that we couldnt afford to keep KW and also have the coaches to compliment best his style of management.
This isn't a knock on KW. As I say Ferguson, Clough and many of the other top managers of all time weren't/aren't coaches. I believe he is a fine football manager. But at a non league club of our size I would imagine it's not financially realistic (once SR Ed no longer provided it) to be able to have a team of coaches and a traditional manager. Something had to give somewhere and I can understand why the decision to let KW go was made. Hard to see what other alternatives there were really.
