3 levels below the Football League is a lot. Crowds in this league are 10% of what League Two crowds are so most clubs lose money on programmes as they don't sell enough. Most clubs have little to no actual staff so low-to-no paid volunteers have to spend their time knocking up a programme (for a game that often ends up cancelled anyway in the winter) that will be read by only a handful of people. It's daft when I don't think 95% of people really care one way or another whether we have a programme, monthly mag or A4 team sheet written in crayon.
The only people who care are the collectors and groundhoppers and as welcome as they are, they must number less than 10 - 20 per game. So yeah I would say actual Ilson fans opinions come ahead of those.
It's the same stuff in the mag anyway that would be in the programme so i don't see what difference it makes other than to help a non-league club have one less headache every week.
Quite a few clubs will end up doing it I think in the next couple of years.
