yes I've no problem with Des as he's clearly talking about the 31st at the time the ref inspected the pitch when I wouldn't be surprised if ice was present. Afterall Des would hardly be still trying to get the pitch ready AFTER the ref's premature inspection had put the match off. My argument is why, in view of the quickly changing weather situation overnight, was the pitch not inspected on New Years Day, by mid-morning it was 13c and surely the ref should have inspected it then not the day before! I was out walking at 9 30 there was soft going everywhere and by 2 30 there was no snow on the pitch or car park.
Today at the match I raised it with Secretary Raisen but all he wanted to talk about was the ref putting it off on the 31st and when I tried ask why there was no inspection on the day all he would say was that he' wasn't bothered about that'! I said the fans from Sheffield could couldn't believe it was off to which he again that he 'wasn't bothered about them either, they should have looked on Twitter'! He went on to question why I should bother coming again. To be fair though, he did appear stressed and those stood nearby observed that perhaps others had raised the topic with him today!!!
