Junction Ultra has reminded us that Amari made his name at Stockport by winning a competition to gain a contract. He made one subs appearance at Stockport replacing an ex Robin Leon McSweeney. However he is not the first Ilkeston legend to make one subs app for Stockport. Christian Moore made his league as a sub for Stockport in 1991. He eventaully ended up at Ilson and spookily scored a goal in the only Ilkeston victory over a league club in the FA Cup when they beat Carlisle 2-1. Even spookier is the identity of the player who scored the winner. It was Paul Raynor who had also played many games for Cambrigde United.
