here's my take on yesterdays game (for what it's worth) started very brightly & seemed to of brushed aside our lacklustre performance v stafford, was on top from the first whistle getting the ball up, on the deck, to amari, graham and sam who were linking up well, scored early & kept the pressure up throughout and really could of been 6 or 7 up as missed 3 good chances in 2nd half when already 4-0 !!!
basically they just couldn't get anywhere near to or handle the pace of amari or sam & we were getting the ball up to them with ease if truth be told, our defence (all 4 of them 6 foot+) were never really troubled by their 2/3 forwards (all 5'4" max) and our midfield were competing well & playing it out wide finding their man.
shame about the injury to dave graham you heard the crack up in the stand & knew straightaway & judging by our players reaction it was bad, heres wishing him (along with kieran & alex) a full & speedy recovery!!
unfortunate to concede at the end but we sort of half stopped as the ball appeared to be out of play before their man crossed it over but a v good performance throughout which sets us up nicely for the cup next week, albeit with the squad down to the bare bones???
lastly must just say fair play to the geordie fans for applauding off both amari & sam when substituted late on, but why some (not all) applauded their full back when sent off i know not??
right bring on the cambridge!! (but no more injuries please!!)
