Why a new Right/Left Winger? When Dougie Wade first came to Ilson he was electrifying at times and went on to create numerous chances.In addition his set pieces also created a number of goals. Whilst the number of goals he actually scored wasn't great - his assists were! Just ask Muller, Rossy, Leon etc if they preferred to play with him as an out and out winger. I believe the lad has been injured for much of last season but prior to that had been ruined by Jemmos outbursts and became his favourite scapegoat because he wouldnt answer back. In addition, the defence were so sh*te that Jemmo needed to resort to a back 5 and dispensed with wingers. With Jemmo gone - and Dougie presumably back to fitness - I think he's well worth persevering with - in my mind he's one of a very few with genuine talent on show. Feather's on the other hand is a completely different type of player and more defensively minded - but still adds support to the attack. I honestly think with the defence sorted out as a back four - sticking with Wade and Feathers on the wings and finding a big target man to help Muller (if he stays) - would be the way forward. Let's hope the new manager will at least take a good look at what he's got - there are some hidden gems in last seasons squad - it needs somebody with man management skills to bring them out!!!
