Some may say that a Wizard can see forever within the eyes of the Boy-Who-Lived, though those who know him best know that it is not Forever that others can see, but a horrible vision of a Past of which he would rather be bereft. They remain hidden (or magnified, as the case might be) beyond his trademarked round-rimmed glasses, glasses which have been broken and repaired more times than he can remember or fathom. He has not traded them, in the intervening years, for the more contemporary contacts or more stylish rims: they are as much a part of him as his eyes, and he is loathe to be parted from them, save in situations where contacts (bought under the assumption that they would, in fact, be far more comfortable than glasses. They were not.) would be of better use. Harry has always remained quite true to his Muggle upbringing, if in appearance only; he, of most of his Wizarding companions, along with Hermione Granger (for it would be strange of a Muggle-borne to know little of Muggle fashion) retains his interest in the clothing of the non-magical, if for its practicality only. Quite at home now in both Wizarding robes (for he has yet to be parted from any which he has bought: still hanging in his closet are his first-year robes from Hogwarts) and Muggle-clothing, he keeps his ability to fade into either crowd, though ostensibly amongst the Wizarding World he is far more readily recognized. He is a well-porportioned man, as I have previously mentioned, weighing a scant 168lbs (due, in most part, to the influence of stress upon his eating and sleeping habits) which seems to have faded all reserve of fat from his body; he is lean, and while the definition of muscle is faint beneath his rather pale skin (for he does not tan, he never has), it remains that he appears very lithely formed. Perhaps this is due in large part to his career in Quidditch, discarded in favour of tracking the Lord Voldemort in the company of the Order, though much more likely is it that it is a result of good genes and terrible eating habits. Regardless, he is transformed, in his entirely, into a man appearing to know and understand far more than his years would belie; his eyes, should you be unable to understand this through his appearance alone, would tell volumes of the Pain of his past and the inevitable Pain of his future. As many people have said before, "the eyes never lie..." Harry's never have, nor shall they ever: they were Lily's eyes, but now they are Harry's, and he has made them his own. There are little other changes to the appearance of Harry Potter, though certainly have there been the occasional accident or misunderstanding which have led to scarring where previously there was none, or marked changes in the colour of a patch of skin in relation to others. An afternoon in his early 20s has led to the formation of a rather scarred portion of his upper back, rather on the right side of his lower shoulder; this is related in no way to magical doings, but rather to a terrible bout of sunburn which reached deeply into the tissues of his skin and created a small, marred portion of scarring. He is rather fond of this scar, simply because it is one which few know about (as it is seldom, now, that he has the inkling to dress without covering much of his body - a protective instinct?) and none recognize: we must give him that, after the ribbing he has taken from the possession of his most highly lauded facial mark. ... continued.

There is nothing of more significance to the Wizarding World than the Scar; I capitalize it for good reason: it is representative of all that has occured in both the young Harry Potter's past and the past of the Magical Community. Though in the intervening years it has been obscured (in a decidedly purposeful fashion), by unwieldy hair-growth, it has neither faded nor vanished from its position above the boy's left eye. He has aged, however, quite gracefully; though never what one would call "a stunner," his innate grace and adolescent growth spurt have transformed him into a well-porportioned man, though the vague muscle definition is owed far more to genetics than a recent addition to weight-lifting. When last we came upon him, in the early summer of 1996, he stood an appropriate, though rather stunted, five foot seven (and three quarters, we shan't deny him that). He has since reached what he thinks to be his final, adult height of six foot two inches, roughly the same height as his father before him, a fact which is both reassuring and confirming: he has, then, taken upon most, if not all, of James' physical characteristics (save the eyes... never the eyes). His face is yet unlined, though in his youth we would expect it to be so; however, there are definite signs of premature aging: he remains strangely gaunt about the cheeks, as though perhaps he had amended his eating habits to a simple meal of bread and water once per day; his eyes are seldom without dark circles beneath, for sleeplessness plagues him more often now than it has ever in his past. His hair is unkempt and unruly, and though it has grown in length (a purpose both in keeping with the "times" and obscuring the damning Scar for which he is so well known) its disheveled qualities have not dimished but rather become yet more exemplified in its length. It is rare that he attempts to tame it, be it through Muggle or Wizarding method, and rare that he succeeds; at this point in his life, he has rather resigned himself to the nature of his hair, and considers its qualities commendable in reference to his father's.
