He can smell the woodsy smell of the forest on her and knows she has returned from Desreal. He stood near the ocean, often in it, sometimes blue and sometimes with a tail, but today he lingered just a step or two away from the waves as they lap upon the shore. He smiled looking out into the beautiful blue-gray expanse that stretched out before him. A small sigh of contentment escaped his throat. He loved the ocean, loved the ocean more than he loved himself. It was a scary thought and he had stepped away from it, stepping out of the water. Kolun came out with a splash and Marshall tossed his head as droplets of water fell on him. "Kolun." He said aloud with a laugh, calling upon a rather large wave to break over the otter's head and back. They both laughed then, and Marshall turned towards her, knowing that she would have seen him by now and knowing that neither of them had really met each other yet.
He tossed the sea-salt matted forelock from his face, walking towards her nice and slow. It wasn't that he was afraid of scaring her away, it simply was the fact that that was how he felt like moving. Kolun trotted along at his side, sometimes skipping ahead and sometimes splashing through the water which caused Marshall to drop another wave over the sea otter's head. They came to her laughing and with a bright twinkle in his eyes, he spoke. "Hello there." He didn't say her name though he knew it. "I'm Marshall..." He took a sidelong glance to the otter. "...and this little sea rat is known as Kolun." Kolun in his own animal voice scolded Marshall and a rolling laugh fell from his lips. "Sorry, this sea otter is Kolun." He took a glance at Kolun and smiled. "Better?" And with the smug look on the otter's face he chuckled again. He didn't answer her questions though he had heard them. Time to put the boiling sea and burnt grasses from his head.
